A rendering of the Center Park Project Community Pavilion by the architectural firm, Saratoga Associates. The project will be completed in four phases: (1) an open-air pavilion, (2) addition of handicapped accessible rest rooms, (3) addition of a kitchen, and (4) installation of doors to close one area of the pavilion for use during inclement weather.

Committee Vision
To assist in the renovation and maintenance of the Community Pavilion and kitchen located on Helmer Avenue, creating a space that meets current health and safety standards, allowing for multiple uses by the Village, community groups, and private individuals under guidelines set forth by the Village.

The Village of Dolgeville Center Park Project - Community Pavilion

In 2018, the Village of Dolgeville was awarded a New York State Parks and Recreation Grant in the amount of $455,000 for rehabilitation of the current community pavilion and the playground/recreation areas. This is a matching grant, meaning that the Village must make a considerable financial contribution to supplement the amount of the State grant. To that end, Dolgeville Forward, Inc. has been assisting in fundraising, soliciting business and personal donations, and writing grants.

To date (January, 2021), Dolgeville Forward, Inc. has secured over $84,000 toward the project. Grant requests from three organizations comprise the largest share of these funds. These grant awards are as follows:

  • The F.M. Kirby Foundation, Inc. - $50,000

  • The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and the Wesley and Marion Small Fund - $10,000

  • Martin Babinec’s UpMobility Foundation, Inc. - $7,500

  • Stewarts’ Shoppes Holiday Match - $1,000

Due to the economic hardships resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Dolgeville Forward, Inc. has made the decision to a planned fund drive soliciting funds from businesses and individuals until economic conditions improve.
